[Digital Daily Interview] "Hoarding GPUs is a Waste"... Mondrian AI Envisions a Korean-style 'NeoCloud'

[Interview] Mondrian AI: "Hoarding GPUs is a Waste"—Envisioning a Korean-Style NeoCloud
Mondrian AI has declared its intent to lead the market in AI infrastructure cost efficiency by introducing a "Korean-style NeoCloud". CEO Hong Dae-ui characterizes the current AI business landscape as a "structure that incurs deficits as usage increases," emphasizing that a company's survival in the AI industry depends on its ability to reduce workload processing costs.
◆ "Deficits as Usage Increases"... The Paradox of AI Cost Structures
AI service markets are growing rapidly, but corporate profitability is deteriorating because the AI business cost structure is fundamentally different from general software businesses. The current ecosystem forces a reliance on external investment because service providers, model suppliers, and cloud providers often face situations where costs exceed revenues. Furthermore, traditional Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) are optimized for web and shopping mall operations, making them structurally disadvantageous for GPU server utilization. Unlike U.S. NeoCloud players that rely on capital-intensive models to purchase massive amounts of hardware, Mondrian AI focuses on a software-driven approach to connect existing idle resources.
◆ Transforming into a Korean-Style NeoCloud Provider
Mondrian AI’s core solutions, the "Runyour" series, facilitate the following:
▲ Runyour AI: A SaaS platform that matches idle GPU resources across data centers, universities, and enterprises using a reverse-auction model, which offers over 70% cost savings compared to AWS or Google.
▲ Runyour Cloud: A solution that converts internal GPU servers into private clouds to automate resource allocation and visualize usage in real-time, preventing the common problem where departments hoard unused resources.
▲ Runyour Agent: A corporate SaaS management platform that integrates over 120 LLMs and provides real-time monitoring and control of token usage to mitigate the skyrocketing costs of AI agent deployment.
◆ From 6 Billion to 10 Billion KRW... IPO Before the Momentum Fades
Regarding growth and the IPO roadmap, Mondrian AI transitioned to profitability with an operating profit of 1.3 billion KRW last year and revenue growth from 550 million KRW in 2022 to 6 billion KRW in 2025. The company targets over 10 billion KRW in revenue for 2026, with 5 billion KRW in contracts already secured as of the second quarter. To support its IPO goals for 2027 or 2028, the company has recruited a CFO experienced in leading tech listings to ensure financial transparency and maximize corporate value. CEO Hong Dae-ui reiterated that the company's priority is to become a platform leader that resolves the inefficiency of AI infrastructure.
