Mondrian AI, an AI cloud and platform company led by CEO Daehui Hong, is expanding into the defense AI market by leveraging the AI transformation (AX) capabilities it has developed across manufacturing environments. Mondrian AI has accumulated extensive AX experience by supporting the entire AI transformation process across manufacturing and industrial sites—from AI infrastructure deployment and data and algorithm development to model operations and service implementation. In particular, the company has continued to advance its capabilities in building industry-specific AI systems that automate complex operational tasks and leverage internal corporate data and knowledge, with a focus on MLOps and agentic AI. The company is now extending the AI capabilities developed in manufacturing environments into the defense and security sector, where data security and on-site operational reliability are critical. Although manufacturing and defense are distinct industries, they share many of the same technical requirements for AI adoption, including secure operational data, on-premises and closed-network environments, AI operations under limited network connectivity, and the automation of complex workflows.
Agentic AI Capabilities Developed in Manufacturing Environments
Beyond chatbots that simply respond to user questions, Mondrian AI is applying 'Agentic AI' technology to manufacturing environments. 'Agentic AI' analyzes a user’s objectives, independently searches for the necessary information, and plans and executes multiple tasks to achieve those objectives. One representative example is the “Agentic AI-Based Design Decision Support System” currently being developed with a global automotive parts manufacturer. When an engineer enters a design-related question in natural language, an AI agent autonomously searches the company’s internal knowledge base for relevant information, including specifications, historical quality defect records, and regulatory documents, before comparing and analyzing the findings. Based on this analysis, the system supports design decision-making and automatically generates required outputs, including Excel files. The project aims to reduce the time engineers spend searching for design information by more than 80% while cutting the time required to prepare deliverables from eight hours to two hours per week. By assigning repetitive information searches and document preparation tasks to AI agents, the system is designed to shorten development lead times and improve design quality in manufacturing environments. Through these real-world AI implementations, Mondrian AI has built a strong understanding of industry-specific data and operational processes while developing the technical capabilities required to connect them with AI agents and MLOps environments.
Industry-Specific AI Powered by Yennefer and Runyour Agent
At the core of these capabilities are 'Yennefer', Mondrian AI’s enterprise MLOps platform, and 'Runyour Agent', its multi-model AI agent platform.
'Yennefer' is an all-in-one MLOps platform that supports the full range of functions required for AI development and operations within a unified environment—from the efficient partitioning and allocation of high-performance GPU resources to data pipeline management, model deployment, and monitoring. This enables companies and institutions to reduce the burden of managing complex AI infrastructure and focus on model research, development, and service enhancement.
'Runyour Agent' is a multi-model AI agent platform that connects a variety of AI models with internal corporate data and operational environments, enabling users to build and deploy AI agents tailored to their specific objectives. Beyond simple question-and-answer functions, the platform integrates AI into practical workflows such as internal knowledge retrieval, information analysis, and document creation. By combining its AI infrastructure and MLOps capabilities built around 'Yennefer' with the agentic AI technology of 'Runyour Agent', Mondrian AI is strengthening its ability to build AI systems tailored to the operational environments and data characteristics of individual industries.
From Manufacturing AX to Defense AI: Expanding Into Closed-Network and Edge AI Environments
Building on the AI capabilities developed across manufacturing environments, Mondrian AI is expanding into the defense sector, where advanced security and strict network constraints are essential. A key example is an AI service development project designed to automate the preparation of navigation and engineering logs aboard naval vessels. Mondrian AI is responsible for developing the project’s core technologies.
Crew members have traditionally prepared approximately 30 types of navigation and engineering logs manually aboard naval vessels. Through this project, Mondrian AI will develop core technologies—including AI that analyzes and assesses conditions aboard a vessel, military-specific speech recognition technology, and large language models for log generation—to automate the preparation of navigation and engineering logs based on information entered by crew members through voice and other input methods.
Through this defense AI project, Mondrian AI plans to extend the AI infrastructure, MLOps operations, and agentic AI capabilities developed in manufacturing environments into closed-network and edge environments. The company also aims to strengthen its competitiveness in AI technologies capable of operating reliably in environments where access to external networks and data is restricted.
“Mondrian AI has developed the AI capabilities required in industrial environments by applying technologies ranging from AI infrastructure and MLOps to agentic AI to real-world manufacturing operations,” said Daehui Hong, CEO of Mondrian AI. “Manufacturing and defense are distinct industries, but they share similar technical requirements, including highly secure data, field-oriented AI operations, and closed-network environments.” He added, “We will extend the AI capabilities proven in manufacturing environments into the defense sector while continuing to advance AI platforms and agentic AI technologies tailored to the environments and requirements of each industry. Through these efforts, we aim to lead Korea’s AI transformation market.”
