AI training environments push infrastructure operations to their limits. Dozens of participants need to use high-performance GPUs simultaneously, and each course requires a different, complex hands-on environment to be provisioned and kept running without interruption. LG AI Research, one of Korea's leading AI research organizations, faced this very challenge while running LG AI Academy, its flagship program for developing AI experts across the LG Group.

Three Bottlenecks at LG AI Academy—and How They Were Solved
LG AI Academy runs a diverse range of programs: a 12-week AI Expert Course, a 2-day intensive EXAONE Tuning course, and long-term research-oriented graduate-level programs. Delivering them smoothly meant solving three core challenges.
First, GPU resource availability was a major constraint. Domestic clouds lacked sufficient high-performance GPUs, while global cloud providers came with costs that exceeded budget. Second, administrative overload had become a breaking point—internal administrators were manually setting up dozens of trainee accounts and access environments one by one, pushing operations to the brink. Third, the absence of specialized technical support meant that library conflicts and troubleshooting unique to GPU-specific environments quickly outpaced what in-house staff could handle.
Rather than offering simple resource leasing or brokerage, Mondrian AI provided a tailored infrastructure built on Runyour Cloud—a platform it develops and operates in-house—precisely fitted to LG AI Academy's training environment and the specific characteristics of each course.
On the operations side, Mondrian AI introduced two key innovations. The first is an industry-first hybrid technical support model: a dedicated team provides hands-on support during peak training periods, while a ticket-based system handles off-peak inquiries—creating a tiered operating structure that balances responsiveness and efficiency. The second is a dedicated portal built exclusively for LG AI Research, which allows administrators to allocate resources and monitor usage in real time directly through the portal—without needing to file tickets with the vendor.
The result: the operations team was freed from infrastructure management entirely and could focus on curriculum design and trainee development. With a single click, independent hands-on environments are automatically provisioned to match the number of participants. Even with many trainees connected simultaneously, the platform delivers 100% uninterrupted learning, free from server downtime or interference. High-performance and standard-spec machines are assigned automatically based on course difficulty—delivering smart cost savings on top of seamless operations.
